So I guess I should tell you how tour went...well what I can remember of it!
All the team set of in the morning...bar us! Me and my two friends got the train which took us a whole 7 hours to get down to Southampton, what a fun journey that was!
So we arrived, there were about twenty other teams from up and down the country. We and Nottingham were the only uni teams there, so a good mixture of abilities. Although that didn’t matter at all, as everyone was drunk most the time lol We also got our Lincoln pie tops, my quote being 'my nipples are so hard'- hmm don’t think I’ll be wearing that around town lol. We were both split in to the red and white team, me being red which was good because we had to wear ours tops for the duration of tour so red didn’t show the stains as well as white.
The campsite (pig sty) was to be our home for the next three days. The first night was to get to know everyone, where we all went to the social tent. Before heading out it was initiation, OH DEAR GOD! The night the funnel was introduced. I got piled on by the whole team; I swear my life flashed before me.
So day two hockey begins, but first getting up! Now that was a problem. During the night it had rained so me and Costello hadn't realised we had been sleeping in a puddle. As I jokingly pointed out that her pillow was wet, and in reply I got 'Wilson look at your hair' which was absolutely soaked through! ha-ha. So that was our accommodation ruined for the duration of the tour! Great.
Any who finally some hockey to be honest I can't remember who we played some people in fancy dress, and the score no idea haha everyone was mental going on with cans. Nicking posts, the umpire just gave up! The theme of the night was Nu Rave, very messy getting changed in a tent with glow paint! And I had the task of looking for a place to sleep as my tent was crap! Luckily someone got lucky ;-) which has acquired her a nickname which will be with her forever I’m sure! Lol.
Last day (well for me) we had two hockey games. I don’t think we won any not sure, but some of the teams were taking it seriously and were very good. Us on the other hand, just drunkards. The night beckons yet again, this time it was court! This is where anyone who has anything dirty about someone dishes it out, and the person accused has to stand guilty or not guilty. So it was getting to the last couple of people me and Anna knew we were in for it being that we a) weren't initiated for hockey at the start of the year b) our birthdays were in a couple of days c) we we're tour virgins and d) we were freshers! So me and Anna decided to go to the 'toilet' just before our go and thankfully they forgot hahah. THEN it was time for cheerleaders!!!!! Another themed night of madness. Again can't remember much. Again I had to find another place to sleep, this time Costello car, which I thought would be nice to stay in- No it wasn’t, especially with the added bonus of Siobhan.
Sunday I had to go, not before necking a few cans I may add and finding all my belongings which were all over the campsite! I'm really making a good advert for joining hockey here I must say haha we are very hardcore! Tour was an experience I will never forget, and DEFO doing it again next year let’s hope it’s aboard PLEASE!
