So Oasis have split, can’t say I didn’t see it coming. Noel and Liam have had the most strained relationship in music-suppose it doesn’t help being brothers. Liam being the bigger personality of the band and Noel more or less the hidden genius in his brother’s shadow, there’s going to be friction. I say genius because he clearly is the best song writer of our age; I think he should go solo I’ve heard he’s considering it. As for Liam he's probably the biggest front man since Johny Rotten.
I’m unbelievably lucky to have seen them at V festival this year and in Manchester, and I have to say their strained relationship showed in their performance. Liam seemed a bit hacked off telling the crowd “you’ve been difficult” at V.
Liam’s persona is what people first see, Noel takes a back seat and I think this time he’s had enough. They’ve fought so many times to recall and are probably know more for their scroberling than their music. They could always reform in 5 years time and do a farewell tour or just come back with another album you just don’t know with Oasis!
At the end of the day, (hate using that phrase!) if they're not happy being on the same stage it affects their performance as I’ve seen, they should go there separate ways. It’ll be best for both of them to do different things and keep out of each other hair. I don’t think there will be any other band like Oasis, they’re unique and no-one will top them.
