Our last game of the season was against Derby at home which was set to be another close game.
Last time we met Derby we lost 3-2, we always thought we had a good chance against them and now we were going to prove it!
First half it was clear straight away who was the more dominant team- us! Derby was lacking in skills and didn't seem to get the rules. We took full advantage, with Megan and Costello taking the midfielders on with ease. They seemed to play rough, with one of their players getting a booking for nudging and swearing a lot. Probably just bitter, because by then we were up 3 nil!! Yes we were WINNING!
Second half begins and we were well up for it! Derby seemed deflated and very unorganised- which was very good news for us! Katie our goalie got little to no action down her end, as we kept possession most of the half. Before we knew it another two goals are scored- thanks to Rach and Hannah. We were getting good support though out the game, which seemed to boost us even more. As Tiff and Rach gave us another two fantastic goals, one in which I set up I must add ;-). The team was playing fantastic as we were communicating and passing the ball really well.
The whistle blows- 6-0!!! I feel to my knees in amazement! We had won our first game...not only won but blitzed them! It was a special moment... AND we weren't bottom of the league either!
Man of the Match- Rach…well everyone really! And dick of the day yet again was Siobhan as usual…I can’t remember the rest of that day really hahah but I know we celebrated. What a way to end the season- so proud of us all :) next stop TOUR woop!
