Well it's been a very progressive season for us 3rds I think, well towards the end. I mean going from 23-0 at the start and ending on a 6-0 victory pretty good going I say!!
At the start we were a mess I must admit, but we had only just met each other and we needed everyone to be comfortable in their positions, as many hadn't played since school (including me).
Our matches seemed to follow the same pattern- in that we lost all the time! lol but some defeats weren't such a walk over. As the season went on you could see an improved, in that we were much better skilled and as a team we work really well together.
Upsetting times are upon us as Emily (captain) and Rach (vice) are leaving, won't be the same :( Our captains for next year are Costello and Anna, which I'm sure they will carry us to victory!!
Ending 2nd from bottom was a big achievement for us!! And also with the 1st team winning their league, hockey is now getting more recognition in the university. We are a big society that does go unnoticed, because of the more dominant games like football and rugby.
Looking forward to starting again next year, that's if my degree doesn't get in the chuffin way!! Otherwise I'm planning to start Lacrosse as well as hockey. As it's a new society and the fact it looks a LOT of fun!!

ReplyDeleteNo, you just need to be part of the uni to play. The first team have a forty year old playing for them she's amazing!
